Moving Day

Well, it's finally our last night in the US for a while. We leave for Shanghai at 1:30pm tomorrow, so today has been a very busy day. Most of the day was spent doing all those last-minute essentials...finishing closing up the house, spending time with friends, cancelling cell phones and land lines, all those fun moving activities.

I think the boys are finally getting mentally prepared for the move. Of course, they've always been excited about the flight over...no, that's not sarcasm. They like the TV-on-Demand on the planes and the reclining seats and the flight itself. It's a long one - 19 hours takeoff to final landing - but they are great travellers!

Alex surprised me this morning with a comment about being ready to start this "adventure"...he even accented the word with making the quotes motion with his hands! Of course, he followed it with a comment about getting it over with so we can come back, but that's Alex. He'll do great once we get there. He's just a bit change-averse.

Derek truly is excited about the move. He's raring and ready to meet new friends at Concordia, shop for stuff for his own bathroom (we each get our own), and live in the apartment. I hope he continues his positive outlook and always rubs off on the rest of us!

It's hard to believe that, here we are, ready to start our adventure. We know that there have been loads of prayers for us, and we appreciate that so much! Keep them coming...

I'll post pictures once we arrive there. Until then...
