During the last couple of weeks of school, the boys each had a music program. In 4th grade, Alex started learning to play the recorder. Throughout the year, the kids could practice and play different songs and earn beads to hang from their instrument. Alex did a good job of learning a handful of songs, adding some decorative beads to his recorder by the end of the school year.
Of course, as part of the music class, they also learned a few songs to sing as well as some dances. I'm sure you can imagine how much Alex enjoyed that...NOT! Regardless, they did a little performance with a dance, a singing song, and a couple of recorder songs. Here are a few pictures of Alex...
Derek also did an end-of-the-year music program. They taught the kids a couple of dances, a song to sing, as well as a song to play on the bells. For the program, Derek decided to dress up in his "Chinese outfit" that we had bought the weekend previous at the Fabric Market. He actually enjoyed the dances as well as banging on the bells for his song.
